A study from the International Journal of Obesity has found that ingestion of antibiotics in the first 6 months of life is associated with
consistent increases in body mass from 10 to 38 months.
It is unclear whether this increase is linked to cardiovascular problems later in life but it is definitely something worth investigating.
Children all around the world are given antibiotics from the onset of life. It may be time to rethink this practice.
