Much like this man, I wake up at the same time every day, put on the least dirtiest of my clothes, hop into my not-quite-paid-off vehicle and embark on the mind numbing commute to the hellhole that is my workplace. We’ve all had a cloudy mind at one point, perhaps looking for some way out of the misery of modern-day slavery. However, I’m sure no one could predict this as the outcome…
Yesterday, an unidentified male in southern Pennsylvania embarked on his daily journey to work. He was passenger on this ride, commuting in another vehicle from his home in Washington. Inexplicably, he jumped out of the vehicle on Interstate 79 in an attempt to end his life, but was unsuccessful on the first shot. Happens, right?
About half an hour later, still on the Interstate, he stepped over a guard rail onto the path of an oncoming truck. Unfortunately for him, the driver of the truck was able to swerve just enough out of the way to literally knock him out of his shoes…still unscathed.
Then, with I imagine a giant shrug and bellowing sigh:
Troopers from the Washington barracks say the man jumped up, grabbed his shoes, slid down a hillside and walked to work.
He is now in a hospital in Pittsburgh recovering from his injuries. However, I’m sure he’ll never recover from the shame.
