Early Exposure to Antibiotics Linked To Increased Body Mass

A study from the International Journal of Obesity has found that ingestion of antibiotics in the first 6  months of life is associated with ” consistent increases in body mass from 10 to 38 months. ”  It is unclear whether this increase is linked to cardiovascular problems later in life but it is definitely something worth investigating.

Children all around the world are given antibiotics nearly right away.  It may be time to rethink this practice.
